“Keep CTE Moving” Shows Unity During Crisis

SkillsUSA recently joined forces with several companies and organizations to create the CTE Coalition, a group designed to keep students learning while schools are closed during the COVID-19 crisis. Companies joining SkillsUSA in the coalition include camInstructor, Haas Automation, Lincoln Electric, NC3, Tooling U-SME, the American Welding Society, Autodesk, Caterpillar Inc., NCCER and Sandvik.

All participants contributed resources to “Keep CTE Moving,” a central web portal where instructors and students can access online classes, videos and instructional materials in machining, welding, mechatronics, industry 4.0, and programming. All of these resources  —  available for free or at a low cost  —  are produced by the 11 coalition partners. The goal is to help CTE faculty continue teaching in a new virtual environment. Keep CTE Moving also highlights best practices in e-learning and provides resources to help CTE instructors and their students quickly transition to virtual environments.
